Paulo Turin, as well as many young kids back in the 70’s, fell in love with the experimental sounds of Led Zepellin, the heaviness of Black Sabbath and the classically influenced music produced by Deep Purple. At the age of 13 he managed to get hold of an electric guitar a little amp and a distortion box, he drove the neighbors mad for a while until he could get in a band with a place to rehearse.
After playing with several garage bands he decided to move to London (England) where he could develop as a rock guitarist. Hes first work as a professional guitar player was in the early 90’s with London rockers Gangland, they signed a recording contract with the japanese record label Pony Canyon and released a single with the tracks “One in a Million” and “Crazy Angel” which became a collectors item around the world. Gangland also recorded 2 tracks for a famous compilation album titled “Metal for Muthas 92” during the hey day of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
Paulo then decided to dedicate his time to studio work and sessions for various acts. It was during this period that he created a project called “Self Destructive Nature” ‘SDN’ with film producer and vocalist Frazer Lee. They wrote and recorded the sound track for the film “On Edge” which has “Doug Pinhead Bradley” (Hell Raiser) as the star and villain of the movie.
In the late 90’s Paulo was invited to join ex “Iron Maden” vocalist “Paul Dianno” and recorded an album titled “Feel my Pain”, sometime later Turin and Dianno joined forces again and recorded the album “Nomad” and the album “The Living Dead” released in the USA in 2006.
Paulo is currently working on a solo project, a new Paul Dianno’s album and some more film sound tracks.
